Wedding Rings and Wedding Bands in London

Wedding rings for him and her, made to order in platinum, 18ct gold and 9ct gold by a family of jewellers in Fulham with more than 30 years in the trade. Choose from classic court, D-shape and flat court profiles from 2mm to 7mm wide, with plain, mill grain, bevelled, track-edge and two-colour finishes. Free engraving is available on our wedding bands, and you are welcome to visit our shop on North End Road to talk through widths and profiles before you order.

Wedding Ring Profiles Explained

The profile is the shape of the band when you look at it end on. It changes how the ring looks and how it feels to wear.

ProfileShapeWhat it feels like
CourtRounded on the outside and the insideThe most comfortable; slides easily over the knuckle
D-shapeRounded on the outside, flat on the insideThe traditional British wedding ring shape; sits close to the finger
Flat courtFlat on the outside, rounded on the insideA modern, crisp look with the comfort of a court fit

Choosing the Right Width

Our wedding bands run from 2mm to 7mm wide.

  • 2mm to 3mm is the most popular choice for women, especially to sit beside an engagement ring without overpowering it.
  • 4mm to 6mm suits most men's hands and gives a band real presence.
  • 7mm makes a bold statement and suits larger hands.

Wider bands fit more snugly than narrow ones of the same size, so for 5mm and above you may need to go up half a size. We can measure your finger in the shop and advise on sizing for the width you have chosen.

Finishes and Details

A plain polished band never dates, but small details can make a ring feel more personal.

  • Mill grain edges have a fine beaded line along each edge, a traditional detail with a vintage feel.
  • Bevelled edges are angled where the top meets the sides, so the band catches the light.
  • Track edges are a fine groove running near each edge.
  • Two-colour bands combine yellow and white gold, often separated by a groove.

Russian wedding rings are three slim bands in yellow, white and rose gold that roll together on the finger. The three colours are often said to stand for love, fidelity and friendship.

Platinum Wedding Bands

Platinum wedding rings are the first choice for many couples, and with good reason. Our platinum is 950 quality, meaning 95% pure, and it carries the 950 hallmark. It is naturally white, so unlike white gold it never needs re-plating, and it is dense, so a platinum band feels heavier than a gold band of the same size. Over time platinum develops a soft, satin look as tiny scratches move the metal around rather than wearing it away. Some people love that patina. If you prefer a mirror finish, it can be polished back.

Platinum wedding bands for women are most often chosen at 2mm to 3mm to sit beside a platinum engagement ring. For men, a 4mm to 6mm court or flat court band in platinum is hard to beat for everyday wear.

Gold Wedding Bands

18ct gold is a popular choice for wedding rings, with a deep colour and plenty of strength. We make our bands in 18ct yellow, white and rose gold. White gold is usually rhodium plated for a bright finish, and the plating needs renewing every so often, which we can do in our jewellery repair workshop. 9ct gold is harder-wearing and more affordable, with a slightly paler colour. A men's gold wedding band in 18ct or 9ct is often chosen in a wider court or D-shape profile.

    Diamond Wedding Rings

A diamond wedding band adds sparkle without the height of an engagement ring, and some people choose one to wear on its own. For rings with diamonds set further around the band, see our diamond rings, which include half eternity designs. Remember that a ring with stones set all the way round is much harder to resize later.

Matching Your Wedding Band to Your Engagement Ring

    • Choose the same metal. Rings in different metals rub together, and the harder metal slowly wears away the softer one.
    • Look at the setting height. Some engagement rings sit low, so a straight band leaves a small gap between the two rings. Many people like that gap. If you want them to sit flush, a shaped or fitted band is the answer.
    • See them together. Bring your engagement ring into the shop so we can look at how a band will sit against it before you decide.

    Bespoke Wedding Rings in London

If you can't find exactly what you want, we can make it. Bespoke wedding rings are useful when an engagement ring needs a shaped band, when you want an unusual width or a combination of metals, or when you want a matching pair designed together. We sketch the design with you, give you a price before work begins and make the ring by hand in our workshop. Find out more about our bespoke jewellery service.

    Free Engraving

Free engraving is available on our wedding bands. Most couples choose initials, the wedding date or a short message inside the band. Keep it brief, as space inside a narrow band is limited, and double-check spelling and dates before you order, because engraving can't be undone easily.

      Ordering Your Wedding Rings

Our wedding bands are made to order, so they can't be refunded once made. That makes getting the size right important.

      • Have your finger measured by a jeweller, ideally at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest.
      • Product pages list common sizes from J to Q. Other sizes are available on request, so contact us or add a note at checkout.
      • Allow plenty of time before the wedding and tell us your date when you order, so the rings are ready with time to spare.
